We’re proud to share that Elpako Biometric Signature, one of the solutions developed by NEVDA, has been selected as a finalist in the Digital Pioneer national competition in the Business and Commerce category. This recognition validates not only the product itself, but also our broader mission: to create technology that fundamentally improves how organizations operate and how people experience digital services.
What is Digital Pioneer?
Digital Pioneer is a competition organized by the State Agency for Public Information and Digital Services (VSSA). Its mission is to identify meaningful digital innovations developed in Lithuania that positively impact people’s lives and to represent the country at the international World Summit Awards.
Unlike many other initiatives, Digital Pioneer evaluates not just technological advancement but also the value created and its social impact. Solutions are categorized into eight areas, ranging from education to business and empowerment. Elpako competed in the Business and Commerce category not just as a piece of technology, but as an idea: to reduce administrative burden, enhance customer experience, and eliminate paper where it’s no longer necessary.
Why it matters
Competitions like Digital Pioneer remind us that the value of technology lies in how it transforms daily life.
For over 30 years, NEVDA has been digitizing document management end to end. Yet only a year and a half ago, we identified the last stronghold of paper: face-to-face customer service, where printed forms, requests and consents are still widely used.
The Elpako Biometric Signature was created in direct response to this challenge, not as a passing trend or tech novelty, but as a solution that brings digital transformation to everyone: municipalities, clinics and any organization where people are still required to sign on paper.

At NEVDA, we don’t develop technology for its own sake. Our goal is to rethink how document management works, to remove unnecessary steps, automate repetitive tasks and eliminate human error. Most importantly, we aim to give people back their time and focus
