Timestamp provision

This is an Elpako service that enhances electronic signatures or seals in documents by adding a qualified electronic timestamp.

An electronic timestamp is a virtual link between electronic data and a specific point in time. It provides reliable proof that the data in the signed document already existed at the time of signing. Including a timestamp is crucial, as without it, it is technically impossible to prove when the document was signed.

This service is especially important for long-term document storage. A document signed with a timestamp remains valid even after the qualified electronic signature certificate expires.
